Testimonials

Being a nurse I have an understanding of what it means to be healthy, and the repercussions of NOT being healthy. I drank more alcohol than I recommended to everyone else; Coca-Cola was my second best friend and smoked a pack a day (in secret, so as to not be setting a bad example). With this in mind, I still thought I was fit and healthy! I wasn’t overweight, my BMI was always in a good range, but thinking back, my lifestyle was not ideal for me, or to portray to my kids.

I joined boot camp with Amanda as a favour to her! I thought I would tag along to support her and her business. It was then that I realised how much things needed to change. I was not the fit young person I was 10 years ago and with 3 kids in tow, I needed to change.

This really came about by accident. Amanda’s gentle nudging to push boundaries without the war cries and overbearing screams I thought boot camp was all about! Don’t be mistaken, she knows if you’re slacking off and will set you straight (10 burpees at a time!). Amanda isn’t just about sweating it out. She can suggest how to manage your diet without telling you to live on lettuce leaves and water. Amanda has shown me to appreciate everything in moderation as well as what are better, healthier choices and how to manage my cravings.

Physically I am leaner, stronger and fitter (not to mention smoke-free). Emotionally I am confident and settled. Spiritually, I am enlightened! Amanda’s HealthyU “family” is full of support, encouragement, challenge and mateship, whatever your fitness level.

Thanks to Amanda, I have a new passion and look forward to entering triathlons and adventure challenges. Who’da thunk it ey?

I met Amanda 18 Months ago in a quest to lose weight. Which to my surprise happened very quickly. I attend bootcamp 2 mornings a week which is a great way to start the day. I have met so many inspiring people there, and some of my best friends. Amanda has helped me with nutritional advice and is always there to support us, to  keep us motivated and on track. She was a god sent when an injury threatened to slow me down, adjusting my workouts accordingly. I have now turned from a lounge lizard to someone who searches for a challenge. Thanks to Amanda’s training and encouragement I have been able to walk the Kokoda Track, complete some hard core obstacle courses and try my hand at triathlons.

Definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made. Life changing. Thanks Amanda!!!

After moving to Chinchilla and not knowing anyone I started Amanda's Bootcamp classes as a way to get out and meet people. I am so happy that I did! Not only has my fitness increased but also my general body shape has been toned up and I now have the confidence to wear a bikini on the beach. Through Amanda's classes and the mateship and camaraderie of the Bootcamp Babes I have successfully completed my first Fun Run and an obstacle course race; with more this year booked in! Turning up to classes is never boring and Amanda has an uncanny knack of getting in your head to make you want to work harder and push yourself further. I cannot thank you enough for not only being my ass kicking trainer but for also being a great mate!

I started personal training with Amanda well over a year ago now. After many years of inactivity she got me moving again. It didn't take long for my confidence to build.  As a result I started attending her Bootcamp and later on Pilates classes. Lately though, Amanda has been providing me with specific training plans which I am absolutely loving. Last year I ran 4km in the Mothers Day Classic and this Sunday I will have completed my first triathlon. Amanda has assisted and guided me to live a healthier and happier life. She has supported me and encouraged me. As a result I feel like its not only myself reaping the benefits but also my family. I was an inactive overweight stay at home mum but now thanks to Amanda and Healthy U I'm an active and healthier mother.

I would recommend Healthy U to anyone looking for assistance in regards to there health and fitness Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in relation to both fitness and nutrition and I truly appreciate what she has done for me.

Exercise has always been a large part of my life up until I had children. I wasn't feeling motivated during pregnancies to exercise enough to keep the weight down, so naturally I put on alot of weight! Both of my pregnancies I put on 20kg's and lost hardly any weight in between each of them. When i heard about bootcamp I thought it was only for the 'fit people' and didn't think I would keep up. Then a friend suggested I try it as there are so many levels of fitness in the group. Once I joined I never looked back! When i started bootcamp I was a regretful 85kgs, but since sticking to bootcamp routines and alot of encouragement and a good diet, I have lost 20kg's!

I honestly believe I could not have achieved this dream goal without the help of the 'Bootcamp Babes Family.'

Recieving awards for 'most dedicated' and 'most pushups in a minute' at the HealthyU awards ceremony in 2012 are most definitely two things I never thought possible! Through really hard work, the great workout plans, encouragement and all of the extra help Amanda gives to each of us girls we have all achieved so many wonderful goals and she has certainly created a strong group of women. There are things we never thought we could do and with Amanda's help we are achieving them every day!

Your friendship, dedication and encouragement has changed my life in so many ways Amanda I will forever be grateful!

Thank you for creating the 'HealthyU Lifestyle'...NOT another fad diet!

HealthyU has not only helped me to become fitter, stronger and healthier, I have made lifetime friends and learnt so much about myself. It has been a journey I not only needed but regard as one of the best things I have ever done. I started training with Amanda with the goal of only doing three personal training sessions to help me lose a bit of weight. It wasn't long before I was doing boot camp two days a week and entered into my first 8k run (The Mother's Day Classic). At 45 I had never played sport, ate what ever I wanted and although I had given up smoking 10 years prior, I was still an ex smoker of 20 years who could hardly breathe when the pressure was on.

Two years later I am still there. Being a part of the HealthyU family means so many wonderful things but the two that stand for me are; 1. The Inclusiveness. I felt so welcomed and included right from the start. It didn't matter who I was or what shape I was in. HealthyU has such a warm and supportive culture. 2. The encouragement and support you get,  even when she is not "on the clock" Amanda is always there with a word or a message or a gentle (OK maybe not so gentle sometimes) to remind you that you can do anything you set you mind to.  She is always right of course. It still blows me away the things I done and achieved over the last couple of years.

Exercise had been a major part of my life for so many years but when I became pregnant with my first child I vowed to do everything for her. As 2 more babies were added to the mix & my life became increasingly busy I unknowingly started to lose all sense of me & who I was. My exercise decreased & my weight increased.  I dabbled in different exercise programs, always looking for that quick fix. It wasn’t until I joined Bootcamp in early 2012 & met Amanda that Exercise became ingrained in my life again.

It has been through the knowledge & support of Amanda & her Healthy U (Bootcamp Babes) family that has instilled in me the values of good nutrition and exercise. Her programs have pushed me and challenged me in ways I thought weren’t possible. I no longer see exercise as a chore but a must have in my day which leaves me energised. Most importantly though, my self-esteem & self-worth are increasing every day with each little gain. I am finding ‘me’ again & setting the example I want for my children. Without Amanda’s support and ability to challenge me, myself and my family would not be where we are today.

I am now a happier & more confident version of myself all thanks to Amanda.
