Amanda Bell

Amanda has recently moved back home to New Zealand and is bringing HealthyU Personal Training to Auckland. She is a qualified and experienced Personal Trainer and Nutritionist with over 9 years in the Health and Fitness industry.

Amanda has just got back from spending 5 years in QLD where she established a very successful mobile personal training business. She worked with mainly 20-55 year old females with a focus on mums. Amanda found it so rewarding giving these mums a new lease on life and thoroughly enjoyed the strong bonds that the ladies in these groups formed whilst taking her classes. It was a small community in Chinchilla so her business went far beyond just seeing people for 2-3 hours a week for exercise. The support network she formed with these girls in this town helped them encourage each other outside of these sessions and had a flow on effect to their families which has enabled sustainability even though she is now back in New Zealand.

Amanda also ran group fitness classes at various mining camp facililties for males and females living on site in Chinchilla. This gave Amanda very good experience for running sessions for mixed groups of gender and fitness levels. She loved the variety this gave and always having to think on her feet. She loves a challenge to ensure everyone is pushed to their individual limit no matter their fitness level or injuries.

Before moving to Australia, Amanda was based in Wellington as a Personal Trainer and a Nutrition Consultant for 3 years. Whilst here she ran bootcamp classes at Oriental bay on the beach with mixed groups of male and females. She held a very consistent client base during her 3 years in Wellington and built some strong foundations to assist these clients to keep heading in the right direction of being fit and healthy.

She also taught nutrition for the New Zealand Institute of Sport and completed a Sports Nutrition Internship.

Amanda loves working in the health and fitness industry because of the exciting new people that she constantly meets, and loves the feeling you get from helping people achieve their goals. She has a sense of humour and is easy to chat with so will ensure your workout is enjoyable. She works on making things interesting but challenging so that you actually see results.

Amanda has written plans for people doing events such as the annual NZ Coast-to-Coast, Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge, Kokoda challenge (96km walking event), adventure races, body building as well as body bulking plans, weight loss plans and general tips for those who want to stay healthy. A lot of people lead busy lives so Amanda tailors her programmes around their schedules, making their lives more enjoyable and full of energy.

Sporting background

Amanda has always had a passion for sport, exercise and helping people feel great about themselves, even from a young age. She has competed at a national level in sprinting, relays, hurdling and javelin and at an international level in 400m hurdles so she understands the pressure you can have when you are in training. She has and admires others who have the dedication and detemination to succeed in what they want to do. Amanda also appreciates that not everyone is born with this skill and enjoys helping people to find what motivates them so that they too can succeed in whatever they choose to do.

Amanda has also had her fair share of sporting injuries so understands the frustrations and set backs that comes along with them. Being injured is challenging but it shouldn't stop you from doing what you love. If you are having issues with injuries and feel like you have hit a wall then contact Amanda and she will be happy to share her knowledge with you and give you some tips on how to move forward. Don't let your injuries hold you back.
